Comparing Internet Service Providers And Plans In The Philippines: Which Gives The Most Bang For Your Buck In 2020?
6 min readAre you currently in the market for the best internet provider, but still haven’t found what you’re looking for?
Can’t blame you, really. It’s 2020, and yet the internet speed in the Philipppines currently leaves a lot to be desired. According to the latest metrics by Speedtest by Ookla, the country ranks at 96th place with an average mobile internet connection of 12.09 Megabits per second (Mbps) and 83rd in fixed broadband rankings globally at 21.00 Mbps.
Our internet speed comes up short when put side-by-side with the likes of Singapore (174.94 Mbps), Hong Kong (141.05 Mbps), and South Korea (110.10 Mbps).
Currently, there are four internet providers in the country. Unless the government opens the market to new players, the only internet plans available are the ones from PLDT, Globe, Sky, and Converge ICT.
In this post, we take a closer look at the different plans provided by these four providers. If you think you’re due for an upgrade or deserving of better connection, we’ve listed them all for you to decide which one is the best internet service provider this 2020. That also depends in the area you work or live in, of course.
