2020 Ford F-150: Truck’s Back, Finally. Here Are The Prices And Specs

It’s official. After almost 20 years, one of the most iconic pickup trucks of all time is back on the Philippine market, in the form of the Ford F-150 2020.

Rumored to be brought to the Philippines earlier this year, Ford Philippines finally came through with one of the most anticipated motoring stories of 2020 and forged an unanticipated homecoming for the beloved truck.

Will we be getting the all-new 2021 F-150 in the Philippines?

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. While the all-new 2021 F-150 will be revealed worldwide around the same time as its local launch, what we’re going to be receiving is 2021’s predecessor: the 2020 Ford F-150.

And that’s not a bad thing at all because the current F-150 will outperform any and all locally-available pickup truck in the market today, without a doubt.

“The F-150 is packed with segment-defining features and capabilities that have made it the truck of choice across America and the world,” remarked PK Umashankar, Ford Philippines’ managing director.

Out of the six models released in the US, we’ve confirmed two will be coming ashore: the middle-of-the-pack 4×2 Lariat SuperCrew and the upscale 4×4 Platinum SuperCrew.

2020 Ford F-150 Philippines specs

There are a few differences between the USDM-spec and PH-spec Ford F-150, mainly with the powertrain choices—or should we say, lack thereof.

The Philippine version will only sport the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 twin turbo gasoline engine found in the Ford Explorer, but tweaked for more power. It now has 375HP and 637NM of torque. Plenty of grunt to haul payloads up to 1465 kg (3230 lbs.) and tow up to 5987 kg (13,200 lbs.) with a trailer tow package.

So this means no 5.0 V8 and more importantly, a 3.0 Powerstroke turbo-diesel V6. Sad.

But everything else is quite similar. It also has a 10-speed automatic gearbox with SelectShift that lets you choose between a normal fully-automatic drive or a more engaging semi-automatic Sport shifting.

The 2020 Ford F-150 is also fitted with the latest safety tech and gizmos from Ford such as the Ford Co-Pilot360, their driver assist technology for better on-road safety, and Smart Trailer Tow connector for easier trailer hitching.

Both models also feature an 8” fully-integrated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility that’s connected to a premium 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. The 2020 Ford F-150 doesn’t just look impressive, it sounds impressive as well.

How much will the new Ford F-150 cost in the Philippines?

According to Ford Philippines, the 2020 Ford F-150 models will retail at:

  • 4×2 Lariat SuperCrew: ₱2,698,000
  • 4×4 Platinum SuperCrew: ₱2,998,000

For all the pickup truck goodness and the sheer depth of heritage that the F-150 badge bears, we’d say that the prices are quite reasonable.

So if you’re looking to get behind the best pickup truck for 43 consecutive years, it’s time to visit the nearest Ford dealership. We feel like the waiting list is going to be long.
