As is expected from Apple, the iPhone 8 and X are solid smartphones that have been met with positive responses from both consumers and the press. While the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus may just be faster and more powerful versions of the previous generation iPhones, the bezel-free iPhone X comes with new features and will only be sold in limited quantities.

In the United States, when the new iPhones were unveiled, the prices were set at $699 (P35,680) and $849 (P43,337) for the 64GB and 256GB variants respectively. Meanwhile, the iPhone 8 Plus 64GB was priced at $799 (P40,808) and the 256GB at $949 (P48,432).

A few days ago, an online gadget shop released its pre-order prices for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, with the dreaded exorbitant price tags. For the iPhone 8 preorders, Widget City is billing the following rates:

iPhone 8 256GB – P60,000
iPhone 8 Plus 64GB – P60,000
iPhone 8 Plus 256GB – P70,000

Quite a markup, right? Filipinos who can’t wait to get their hands on these babies can get them at lower prices from the gray market.
