Here they are:

  1. From a vendor’s language, “wholesale” means 3 pieces of clothes —different items of the same price.
  2. Bring at least 3 XL eco-bags, as you can’t be sure about the items you’ll end up buying.
  3. Keep a large amount of cash (of lower denominations) and change, for faster transactions.
  4. Schedules may vary without prior notice, so always check ahead of time.
  5. Wear comfortable clothes. It can be hot and crowded at the tiangges.
  6. Every tiangge or ukay-ukay regular know this rule: Don’t look too fancy, because the vendors may not give you discounts if you look like you can afford the original price.
  7. Food courts are available, but it’s always better to bring your own bottle of water.
  8. Look around the stalls first. Canvas and compare prices before getting into a real bargain shopping.
  9. The prices are already low, but you can still try to haggle or make tawad.
  10. Always check the products for rips, tears, or other imperfections before giving your payment.
  11. If you’re vlogging, ask permission from the vendors before bringing out your camera as they are afraid others will copy their tailored designs.
  12. Always, always, be responsible with your trash. Clean up after yourself before leaving the premises.
